Why Us
Level-Based Learning
Students are placed by their actual speaking, reading, and literacy skills—not simply by age or years of study.
Small Classes, Personal Attention
Small-group and personalized instruction helps each learner get the support and challenge they need.
Chinese for Real Communication
Students build practical speaking, reading, and expression skills they can use beyond the classroom.
Our Story
Built by a language educator. Shaped by real learners.
MAP Chinese was founded by Angela Zhongya Liu, a language educator with graduate training from Beijing Language and Culture University and George Mason University, and teaching experience at universities including George Mason, Georgetown and Johns Hopkins.
After years of teaching learners of different ages, she saw the same challenge again and again: meaningful progress comes from more than completing a textbook. Learners need the right level of challenge, frequent opportunities to use Chinese, and a clear path from understanding to confident expression.
That idea became MAP Chinese—a place where learners build practical communication, literacy, and long-term proficiency through small-group and personalized instruction.
Our Faculty
Our teachers combine strong Chinese-language backgrounds with professional training and classroom experience. We focus on thoughtful instruction, individual attention, and helping every learner make meaningful progress.

Maria

“The teachers truly understand how to support each child. They don’t just teach the material—they adjust the pace and approach based on each student’s needs. My child feels supported, challenged, and more confident using Chinese.“.
